Using the ENERWATT 612-1 is very simple, you only need to connect the clamps to your battery and plug it into an outlet. The ENERWATT 612-1 will stop charging the battery when the voltage is reached in order to avoid overload and it will start again when voltage lowers. Leave it plugged-in all the time until next season.
The maintenance load is essential in prolonging the life of your batteries. If nothing is done, a battery will loose its charge little by little, around 0.5 to 1% every day. After a period of approximately 3 months, the battery is completely discharged. In such state, the battery might be damaged. It may freeze or sulphate. This phenomenon occurs when the electrons do not move fast enough in the battery, sulphate then glues to the plates and cannot be removed.
